Announced public Demo window
The announced public Demo window is October 19–26, 2026 during Steam Next Fest. The official Demo trailer and the earlier September preview’s explicit date correction give this window. The Steam search result checked on October 9 lists the Demo as free, with October 19 as its planned date.
Who can participate?
Official community manager Amanda, with the Development Team role in the Emberville Discord, confirmed on September 28 UTC that the upcoming October 19 Demo is for everyone, without special participation restrictions.
This differs from the September invited Prologue preview. A creator or player having an old preview key is not a required step for joining the announced public Demo.
Check the official Steam page when the window opens. On October 9, clicking the Steam Demo search result still led to the main game page, App 2295170. This check did not establish an active download button or a separate Demo App ID, so this page does not provide a verified download procedure.
Does the Demo save carry over?
Final save carryover has not been confirmed in the material checked. The September 12 preview originally said Demo progress would not transfer into Early Access. A later developer-team interview discussed the possibility of letting Demo saves continue into the purchased game.
That later discussion is a proposal, rather than confirmation that migration is implemented. Do not rely on either a guaranteed transfer or a permanent refusal until the team publishes a final rule. No save migration has been tested for this guide.
Public Demo versus September preview
The September recordings show an earlier Prologue preview, including a keyboard-and-mouse-only notice. Its controls, layout and progression should not automatically be applied to the October public Demo.
The September preview guides are explicitly limited to the scenes and interfaces shown in those recordings.
